DuraGuard Installation Instructions
The following instructions are for standard installation of a DuraGuard hopper level detector. If you have any questions, please contact us for further assistance.
- Select the desired sensing point on the hopper and remove a 12" (approximate) square of insulation.
- Cut a 4" (approximate) diameter hole in the hopper wall.
- Slide the mounting plate onto the sensing pipe.
- Slide the sensing pipe assembly through the hole with the elbow portion on the inside of the hopper.
- Seal weld the mounting plate to the hopper wall.
- Slide the sensing pipe into the hopper until approximately 12" to 14" remains on the outside.
- With the leveling block pointing vertically upward, place a bubble-type level on it and adjust the downward angle of the sensing pipe until level is indicated.
- Holding the sensing pipe in this position, seal weld it to themounting plate.
- Re-insulate around the finished installation.
- Thread the tighten the level detector onto the sensing pipeso the threaded conduit hub is pointing vertically upward.
- Attach flexible conduit to the ?" threaded hub on the switchenclosure.
- Remove the switch enclosure cover and route wiring to the terminalblock. NOTE: The switch contacts are rated for a maximum of 4 Ampsat 120 VAC.
- Replace the switch enclosure cover.
- Remove the elastic band holding the flapper to the backing plate and make sure it swings freely.
- If the level detector is to be tied into an annunciator or ashhandling system, it is recommended that a 10 to 15 second time delaybe built in to prevent stray or false alarms.
