DuraMax Installation Instructions
The following instructions are for standard installation of DuraMax Bypass/Circumferential seals. If you have any questions, please contact us for further assistance.
Before opening the new seals check to see if the rotation direction and unit is marked on the top of each seal package. Do not mix the stacks up, for they are marked for rotor direction and for hot and cold ends. The following three photographs show a typical bypass seal installation. The same principal for interlocking of seals applies to the circumferential seal design. When installation is complete, you will have an even row of leaves at the sealing edge. All seals are set to standard rotor turn down dimensions. Each job will have a modified gap setting for maximum performance as specified by the customer’s Group 7000 Seal Setting Chart. Should you have any questions, please contact your Paragon Airheater Technologies service representative at (888) 488-3100.
Photograph #1 depicts the seals as you
start to engage the adjoining seals.
Photograph # 2 shows the start of the interlock (note the right leaf slipping under the left lead as the notches start to interlock). A
slight twist may be required to align the notches.
Photograph #3 shows the seals in a full
interlocking position. The sealing edge
will be flush with the seal that it is was
interlocked into. With the bypass design,
the bold holes will be on center to eachother.
